5 new horror movies that will give you chills this July
While nothing beats the classic cinematic experience, there are a wide variety of new horror movies that deserve an honorable mention…especially this month! So, whether you prefer to watch the big screen at a local theatre or the convenience of renting or streaming at home, these five new horror movies are bound to give you chills all month long.
The Case of Dakota Moore (July 1, 2022):
If your stomach can handle the shaky camera that empowers the style of found footage horror, then you will absolutely love the twists and turns within this murder mystery. When a popular vlogger travels to California seeking new content for her online channel, she falls victim to a hardcore fan who stalks her whilst on her trip. The movie jumps between accounts of her video footage and some interviews which leaves viewers peeling back the clues to uncover the mystery of what happened to Dakota Moore.
11th Hour Cleaning (July 5, 2022):
While there’s likely a film we can all recollect that centers around a murder house, this new horror installment offers a refreshing perspective. Post-murder, a group of crime scene cleaners find themselves trapped within the same murder house they were hired to clean. Slowly driven to the point of insanity, trapped within its walls, the cleaners learn that an ancient Nordic demon is the one keeping them there. The same entity who’s responsible for the prior murders.
H.P. Lovecraft’s Witch House (July 5, 2022):
Running from her abusive past, Alice Gilman seeks refuge in the infamous Hannah house—a historic building that harnesses a dark past. As a graduate student, she is determined to prove the possibility of alternative dimensions and unknowingly unlocks a gateway to unimaginable horror. Facing a series of violent events, Alice’s dreams become plagued with nightmares of evil entities, trapping her between the dimension she unlocked and reality.
The Ghosts of Monday (July 15, 2022):
Documentary horrors are in for 2022! This feature movie tells the chilling story of a group of US filmmakers who travel to Cyprus to film a documentary about the tragically famous Hotel Gula—a once-popular resort where more than 100 people died mysteriously. Demonic spirit? Cult? Psychopath? You’ll have to keep your eyes peeled for clues to uncover the terrifying secret.
Moloch (July 22, 2022):
On the haunt for something more sinister? Moloch is a tale that follows a 38-year-old Dutch woman that lives at the edge of a peat bog in the North of the Netherlands. When she and her family are randomly attacked by a stranger one night, she seeks an explanation. She begins digging, and the deeper she gets, the more convinced she is that something ancient haunts her.
