Hellraiser franchise might be the next horror reboot to receive TV series
The alluring sequences that are based on Clive Barker’s novella, The Hellbound Heart, have transformed an otherworldly gateway to the Cenobite realm into ten feature films and a vibrant followed franchise. Needless to say, just like Pinhead and his band of malevolent villains who long to harvest the souls of their victims through sadomasochistic torture, horror fans have yearned for more “sweet, sweet suffering”. While lately, it seems that many horror franchises have succeeded in making the shift to television, word has gotten out that the Hellraiser may be next in line to receive a reboot series.
Which producers are stirring around the idea?
IT producer Roy Lee and Reader Player One producer Dan Farah have positioned themselves as the front liners who will bring Hellraiser to the small screen. These producers are aiming to join forces with New World rightsholders, Lawrence Kuppin, David Salzman and Eric Gardner, to established a launchpad for the news series.
What’s to come?
While it would be nice if “we had such sights to show you”, details about to the TV reboot are quite vague at the moment. However, sources say that producers are currently on the hunt for a writer-showrunner that will build upon the mythology that was established in the precious Hellraiser horror franchise. The aim will be fixed at creating a fresh anthology or a more traditional show with an ongoing narrative. Needless to say, while rights are being finalized and a network or streaming service set in place, there’s plenty of time to binge-watch the films and grab a few horror collectibles while waiting on the Cenobites diminishing return.
What must-haves should you collect to assist with the dreadful wait?
While some horror collectibles are a dime a dozen, others spark an invited conversation. So, when it comes to unique Hellraiser keepsakes, Nightmare Toys has got you covered with so many bloodcurdling franchise relics. The FUNKO horror Pinhead Pop! features a vinyl version of the hellbound leader, standing stylized at 3 ¾ inches tall, while NECA is accepting pre-orders for their lifelike king of torture, the 7” Scale Utlimate Pinhead Action Figure. You can even recite, “The Box. You opened it. We came. Now you must come with us, taste our pleasures,” when you receive your Hellraiser horror collectibles in the mail.
