True horror lovers know that the fun doesn’t stop after Halloween. In fact, it’s just about to get ramped up with the addition of so many creep-tastic installments this November. Who knows, maybe you’ll even be able to add some horror movie pops to your ever-growing collection after you see the scenes from these unsettling new horror films?

Doctor Sleep (November 8)

Who can forget the classic, psychological thriller that stole our hearts back in 1980? “Sometimes human places, create inhuman monsters,” and Jack Torrence’s supernatural character possessed such a spine-chilling performance that fans of “The Shining” have notably collected horror movie Pops!, living dead dolls, and time-honored props from the gruesome film. Now, casting a new shadow on a vintage horror story is the upcoming adaptation, “Doctor Sleep”, taken from the 2013 novel written by Stephen King. The contemporary movie follows Danny Torrance into adulthood as he struggles to cope with his childhood trauma following the events at the Overlook Hotel. Battling the effects of alcoholism landed him in a small Massachusetts town, where he becomes “Doctor Sleep”. It’s also where he meets a young girl who possesses the strongest shining capabilities he has ever known. “The world is a hungry place, a dangerous place” and Danny is forced to face the demons of an evil force known as the True Knot to save her from a horrifying fate.

Koko-di Koko-da (November 15)

As fans of the macabre, we can never get enough twisted tales of devastation, which is why a plot like “Koko-di Koko-da” will have fans flocking to the theatre this month. While you might need some subtitles for this one (unless you speak Danish) you shouldn’t let it discourage you from enjoying this dramatic horror film. When a family is forced to cancel their vacation plans because of a simple case of food poisoning, three years later their derailed plans resurface and forever alter their fates. The once happy, married couple Elin and Tobias, along with their daughter, find themselves reliving the same nightmarish events on an infinitive loop — a sideshow artist and his crazy entourage of malicious minions inflicting torment. So, if you like elevated hauntings, surreal, dark fantasy and a ghastly blend of ominous tunes then you’ll want to watch this story unfold.

The Lodge (November 15)

Those who’re looking for a horror film that’ll rattle their brains will love the relentless sense of realism that’s portrayed in “The Lodge”. A resented, soon-to-be stepmom is struggling to form a loving relationship with her fiancé’s two children and insistent on molding a new family dynamic dad Richard organizes to spend Christmas at the family’s upscale winter lodge in the woods. Although having to leave unexpectedly for a few days, the three are left less enthused about spending quality time alone in such an isolated place. While Richard is away, strange happenings start to occur that seem to have no explanation, just as the cabin is hit with a fierce blizzard that traps the family. While it seems that Grace is battling the demons of her past, it’s evident that as implausibility creeps in that she must also fight for their lives against this unseen evil force. It’s the perfect cabin-in-the-middle-of-nowhere chiller to get your fix of haunting mysteries and it’s safe to say that this hair-raising movie brings on an extra layer of horrific charm. horror movie pops
